Karen Yu Family Birthday Celebration in NYC
We had the opportunity to take a family vacation to New York this summer. Our goal was to attend the US Open and explore The Big Apple. Kitt and her team at DNY put together a great trip for us. They took care of every detail. We got to and from the Open with ease and had nice seats at Arthur Ashe Stadium. DNY followed that with a special day for my relatives living in the area. It included activities that my relatives had never done before and finished with a great guided street tour in a private mini-coach. We got to see many different areas of New York and learn some of the history behind them. The tour stopped at various locations so we could experience the local character and see the architecture up close. It was a wonderful way to spend time with extended family.
The rest of our trip included additional private tours with wonderful guides at at many museums and sites in the City. DNY also selected various places to eat, some with their own local history. We learned a lot about the early growth of New York and the lives of immigrants (especially as portrayed in a downtown Museum), plus more recent developments such as the transformation of Central Park and the impact of 9/11 on the Financial District & New Jersey. Staying in the heart of the City allowed us to experience the excitement & diversity of the tourist population first-hand. One of the best parts of the trip for my husband and me was a north-to-south walking tour which ended at a well known Food Hall. Both of our kids thought their favorite part was seeing the musical “Newsies”. Kitt had recommended that show and we all loved it: great seats, stellar performances, and the perfect theme for our New York City vacation.
Kitt made a special effort to meet with us at one point, and her team was always available for questions. They even surprised us with a little gift for the my husband’s and younger son’s birthdays. Overall it was an effortless and truly enjoyable trip, yet one where we got to learn a great deal and spend quality time as a family. We would not hesitate to recommend DNY to others.
