Dear Evan Hansen
Ben Platt will likely be nominated for a Tony for his performance as a lonely teenager trying to fit in.
He lives with a mother who is either working or taking classes to improve her life after her husband left them when Evan was only 7.
As part of his therapy, Evan is instructed to write letters to himself to boost his self-confidence, a mini-pep talk. When one of his letters falls into the hands of a classmate, Evan’s world changes dramatically. It’s about the choices we make and the effects on others. This musical has something for everyone that remembers their high school years and how teens can be both supportive and cruel to each other while trying to fit in.
Recommended for ages 13 and over.
