Come From Away
Come From Away is based upon the true story of the aftermath of 9/11 and combines history, humanity and humor. When the F.A.A. shut down American airspace on 9/11, 38 planes landed in Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. The residents came together to welcome 7,000 strangers from all over the world who landed without notice. They offered food, clothing, shelter, translation services and friendship, proving we are a global family.
Gander was once the largest airport in the world, and the only operative airport in the Maritimes. During WW II, it became the main staging point for the movement of Allied aircraft to Europe. Before jet travel, Gander was used to refuel.
This non-stop 1 hour and 50-minute production flies by with a terrific cast and wonderful storyline to remember how good the world can be when everyone pulls together.
Recommended for adults who love theater with a point of view.
