The Mystery of Edwin Drood
Posted on Oct 23, 2012
This musical is based on Charles Dickens’ unfinished novel of the same name, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Using an interactive format with the audience to determine the ending, this is a fun evening. The British accents can make following the story a bit challenging during the musical numbers.
The set design and lighting are wonderful and allow the members of the Theatre Royale Music Hall Company to tell the story in a very creative way. For those of you that follow the TV show Smash, Will Chase does a great job as John Jasper/Mr. Clive Paget.
This is a Roundabout Theatre Company production. Preview performances began on October 19 for the first Broadway revival of Rupert Holmes’ Tony-winning 1985 musical. Opening night is scheduled for November 13 at Studio 54. Directed by Scott Ellis, the production will play a limited engagement through February 10, 2013.
Good for adults and British Theatre lovers.
