Where can you fine 218 flavors of ice cream? Just ask Marc Telio of Entrée Destinations to include a stop at La Casa Gelato the next time you are visiting Vancouver. It’s truly amazing. Yes, they provide samples!
Where can you find 60 flavors of Biscotti and sit with a cup of Illy coffee? Bis. Co. Latte not only makes hand- made biscotti, their spinach frittata is amazing. On 10th Avenue in midtown, just ask us to include it as a stop on your next visit.
Where can you find a restaurant devoted to meatballs? The Meatball Shop on the Lower East Side can have a wait for up to an hour on the weekends. You can order a meatball sandwich with your choice of meatballs and sauces or save the bread and just enjoy the meatballs. The salads are fresh and creative.
For Fashionistas the focus on the details is now showing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Alexander McQueen’s Savage Beauty. This is really an extraordinary exhibition of the work of this very creative man, May 4 –July 31, 2011. The lines are very long, although they do move. Go either early or very late. Remember the Met is open until 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday evenings. With the audio guide, allow an hour.
Anthony Caro on the roof will allow you a sunset view of Central Park and enjoy a glass of wine, April 26, 2011–October 30, 2011 (weather permitting).
Rooms with a View: The Open Window in the 19th Century, April 5, 2011–July 4, 2011, Special Exhibition Galleries, 2nd floor is wonderful. Allow an hour with audio guide to really appreciate this exhibit.
