No matter how many times you have “been to New York”, there is always another interesting layer to explore.
On this St. Patrick’s Day, New Yorker’s will unite in celebrating the Irish! Celebrate your heritage from whole neighborhoods, to the unique neighborhood restaurants and bars, from 200 year old churches, mausoleums and memorials, DNY’s team of educators will have you fall in love with your heritage.
While there is no precise count, some experts believe New York is home to as many as 800 languages. That’s far more than the 176 spoken by students in the city’s public schools or the 138 that residents of Queens (New York’s most diverse borough) listed on their 2000 census forms according to Sam Roberts in an article in The New York Times on April 29, 2010.
