Bengal Tiger at the Bagdad Zoo lacks a coherent plot and simply offends

Bengal Tiger at the Bagdad Zoo lacks a coherent plot and simply offends…..both by topic of the horrors of war, the challenges facing the Middle East as the people strive for a new form of government, and lacks any humor unless you feel that carrying a head around under one’s arm is funny.  This 2010 play was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize, and I cannot figure out why.  Robin Williams’ plays a dead tiger parading around the stage having philosophic monologues with living and dead characters.  He follows the intertwined lives of two American Marines and one Iraqi gardener as they search through the rubble of war for friendship, redemption and a toilet seat made of gold. With so many fabulous productions on Broadway this season, take a pass. For additional show options.
