Arthur Avenue in The Bronx named “Great Street of America”
Posted on Oct 4, 2016
Known by many as the “Real Little Italy” of New York, Arthur Avenue will join the American Planning Associations’ “Great Street of America”. Located in the Belmont section of The Bronx, yes, the same neighborhood that Dion and The Belmont’s came from, this is a great tourist destination. It’s one of the best places to purchase fresh pasta, cheese, meat and pastries in the Bronx. With the opening of A Bronx Tale on Broadway, this neighborhood will be on the must see list for visitors this fall.
The Bronx is 42.47 square miles and has a population of 1.3 million residents and is the fastest growing borough in NYC with activities and attractions as diverse as the population.
From 18th Century Historic Homes, to gorgeous parks and gardens including the New York Botanical Garden, Woodlawn Cemetery, Wave Hill and The Bronx Zoo you can enjoy the outdoors.
For sports lovers, it’s not just home to the New York Yankees but also two public golf courses.
Architecture includes 18th Century fieldstone farmhouse to 19th Century mansions, to over 400 Art Deco buildings and the quaint maritime village of City Island.
The Art Scene in The Bronx is hot right now. Combine a visit to The Bronx Museum of the Arts with visits to the new galleries and visit artists in their studios. Take time to explore the craft breweries, learn about the history of hip-hop and dine in one of 33 Zagat rated Bronx eateries!
