Ari Brand Should Be Nominated for a Tony for Best Actor for My Name is Asher Lev, a breathtaking performance Off-Broadway.

The stage adaptation of Chaim Potok’s classic coming-of-age novel is a must see.  Set in New York City, My Name is Asher Lev is the story of a Hasidic Jewish boy who wants to be an artist. As Asher matures as both a Jew and an artist, he continues to struggle to be accepted by his family and the members of his community.  I left the matinee and walked directly to MoMA to just “be with art”.  It’s a rare performance that will stay with you for years, and this one will be one of those special treats in the theater.

Audience: Anyone that truly loves art, creative expression and those who wonder if following your dreams is worth it.
