Arcadia is for a very special audience

Posted on Mar 10, 2011

Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia was written in 1993 and is in previews now.  This particular production has some serious challenges.  Grace Gummer sounds like a screeching cat in pain and the “laughs” go unnoticed as the dialogue is spit out so fast and thick with a British accent, that the audience is simply missing the plot.  Before intermission, 25 people had left the theater and many more left at intermission.  Despite rave reviews from critics, beware that you are paying for the ticket.  Make it an evening that you want to remember.  Check out the shows currently playing on Broadway and make the correct match for you…..
