Art: See Mark Rothko’s Harvard Murals change colors at 4:00 PM! Using noninvasive digital projection as a conservation approach, you can see these murals in a whole new light, literally. A specialized, camera projection system restores the appearance of the mural’s original rich colors, which had faded while on display in the 1960’s and 1970’s. The exhibition runs to July 26, 2015.
Science: The Museum of Science has a variety of terrific hands-on classes to inspire the imagination no matter what your age!
Architecture: From looking at the extraordinary Tiffany glass windows in one church to the entire waterfront, the city’s history unfolds over centuries. You can explore the various neighborhoods by car, or in depth by foot with a guide that can bring the city’s history to life.
History: The brand new Edward M. Kennedy Institute is a wonderful way to learn about the Senate. You’ll see a replica of Senator Kennedy’s Senate office as well as a replica of the Chamber itself. The Institute is located next door to the J.F.K. Library; combine the two and for a full day of immersion in Presidential and Senatorial politics.
Food: Clam Chowder and Lobster Rolls are great for lunch. Divine dining is available in small neighborhood restaurants to spectacular seafood specialties.
