"We help you turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!"

Thank you for all of your comments about the monthly newsletter. We are delighted that you are enjoying it. Please do visit our website for program details with pricing. You will find the prices for transfers, tours, helicopter rides, all listed there.

I didn't know you did that!

What can we do to keep our holiday party and manage costs?
Keeping camaraderie up and reinforcing the company culture in this challenging economic time can be handled in a variety of ways.  Call us to discuss options for you that will keep the creativity and cut costs.

What can you offer for an “Insider’s Look at NYC” for our Alumni trip for 2009?
Alumni trips are wonderful because alumni have interesting friends all over the world.  Tapping into the resources of the group and allowing DNY to build a program around those contacts maximizes everyone’s time and budget.  The group size of about 50 people makes insider’s access to a variety of locations very cost effective.  Call us before you book anything to allow us to maximize every minute and every dollar for you at 212-370-1319 X1500.

What can you offer for a spouse group that wants to come to NYC and combine history, shopping, culinary, theater and art in a seamless experience?
Spouse groups are great fun for us to work with and help them learn about a variety of neighborhoods as they eat and shop their way through them!  Working with a musical director to learn one of the songs that they will see in a show and sing it with a cast member is a joyous way to bond.  Call us for details at 212-370-1319 X1500.

We want to experience New England after our visit to New York and wonder if you can help us?
New England offers such a wide variety of activities from Cape Cod to Maine.  Whether you want to share the experience with friends or just explore on your own with some structured activities, call us to create the perfect trip.  Spouse programs, executive meetings and events are all possible.

Can you help us in Chicago with the same type of services that you offer in New York?
Chicago offers a wide range of art, cuisine, music and sporting events.  Yes, DNY can help create the perfect trip to Chicago for both FIT and groups.  Let us know your dates, number of passengers and budget and we’ll package the program for you.

The TKTS booth is supposed to finally open again allowing tickets to shows to be purchased on the same day as their production. The booth will be in Duffy Square at 47th Street between 7th Avenue and Broadway.  Tickets to shows can be purchased in cash or travelers checks, no credit cards, for up to 50% off the face value of the ticket. If you have time to wait on line there, it’s a good way to save money.  The opportunity to see a show that has been playing for awhile or is very new can be purchased.  You will not find tickets to the hot shows. Please do not purchase tickets from anyone on the street selling them!!!!  They could be fraudulent tickets and you will be denied entrance.

You’ll find my personal opinions about these shows on our website under the Kitt’s Picks section so that you can decide if you feel that this is a show that you would personally enjoy.

It’s with huge joy that I can announce that I am now a grandmother!  George Phillips Garrett was born on September 24th in Norfolk, Virginia to my son, Brent and his wife Brooke.  All three are doing well and I can’t wait to meet George this Friday.  Living in an age where technology allows us to view photos within minutes can bring the entire family closer together.  We are all truly blessed with George as the newest addition to our family.

Melanie Bober has joined DNY this month as Sales Associate working on FIT business.  We welcome Melanie to our team and look forward to your reaching out to her with your requests for help in New York.  Melanie’s e-mail is mbober@dnykg.com.  Her telephone is 212-370-1319 X 1600.  Danny Moran is on extension 1800 and Heidi Lubov is on extension 1400.

Conde Nast Traveler sponsored the World Savers Congress 2008 on September 23rd.  It truly was a wonderful conference and very inspiring to realize that we can all make a difference to our planet in large and small ways.

Jeffrey D. Sachs spoke about the path to sustainable development: How travel shapes the heart, mind and global change.

Ashley Judd spoke about her world travels and the work that Procter and Gamble is doing to bring clean water to people that need it using the product Pur.

The Conde Nast Traveler and Population Services International (PSI) have created the Five & Alive Fund.  Launched in 2007, the fund harnesses the power of industry partners and the magazine’s readership to help save and improve the lives of children worldwide with malaria prevention programs, access to safe water, nutritional supplements, and pneumonia treatments.

Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan spoke about the work to refurbish Jordan’s public schools.  She established the kingdom’s first hands-on children’s museum in Amman.  She is also working to provide Jordanian women with employment, generating income for venerable communities and families.

An inspiring panel discussion was offered: The Consumer: Is Social Responsibility Smart Business?  Robert Katz, CEO, Vail Resorts, Sven Lindblad, Founder and President, Lindblad Expeditions, Adam Stewart, CEO, Sandals Resort International, Tensie Whelan, Executive Director, Rainforest Alliance and moderated by Wendy Perrin.  This program was really inspiring.  These panelists are actively finding way within their own companies to make large and small changes that will effect their environment and the bottom line.  Each of us can do something to make a difference if we really look at the individual steps that we take in our workplace.

DNY stopped printing brochures two years ago relying on our clients to e-mail and call us to schedule a personalized consultation to create custom designed programs.  Our website is still a wonderful resource for what’s happening in NYC with pricing for transfers and programming options.

Kitt’s Picks will keep you up to date with my personal opinions about theater, museums and restaurants.  Theater and Entertainment will allow you to click on what’s playing in NY for concerts, sporting events, Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center and theater options with dates and times.  Of course, you can call us to include tickets with backstage access in your package.

Before you print anything, please think through what you really need to keep.  Many of you love to print this newsletter and place it into three ring binders in your office for reference.  Every issue since July 2003 is on our website at www.dnykg.com.  Click on newsletters and you will see the back issues in addition the current edition.  Instead of printing it and mailing it to a friend, please e-mail it to them using the Send to> button.  You can add a friend’s name for their own free subscription right on our website. It’s a great gift for people that want to come to New York or those people that live in NY.  DNY has many clients that live in NYC.  They are celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and romantic quick getaways. On the Corporate side, DNY can assist you with transportation needs both from the airport and around town, as well as off site events, spouse programs, events and restaurant and nightclub access, décor and entertainment.

Feel free to share with us what steps you have take to “be more green”.  We’d love to share them with our readers.
