Can you help us create a trip that is very special so that our clients will book it?
As your Destination Specialist for NYC, we look forward to creating a visit that holds magical experiences not open to the general public. Let us know the dates, number of passengers, and most importantly the budget. We’ll be delighted to custom design a visit for them that will create the memories to last a lifetime whether it is for a family or group.
Can you help us get tickets to Spamalot and The Odd Couple?
Yes, call us with dates and a credit card ready to book for the best seats in the house. Several new productions are coming up and you can read about those in the Theater Section below.

NY is for the birds! Did you know that we have 285 different species of birds migrating through Central Park each year? September, October, April and May are the peak migratory season for our feathered friends to fly across the sky. The Empire State Building’s lighting policy has been in effect for decades, and now many other buildings over 40 stories will voluntarily shut their lights at midnight too, including the Chrysler Building and glass buildings along Battery Park. The birds cannot recognize glass as a barrier and avoid it and tend to mistake reflections for the sky. The number of birds crashing into buildings is in the thousands and this little extra step will help them continue their journey.
Grand Central Terminal really is grand! Enjoy the beauty of this fabulous historic landmark building with a private tour. The netting came down this week and the freshly cleaned facade looks gorgeous. The interior spaces are elegant and fun and we’d love to be able to share its history with your friends and colleagues. We can tie in a walking tour of the building with either a private luncheon or dinner to meet virtually any budget.

Thank you to everyone who has cleaned out their closets and sent their summer wardrobe, extra bed lines, and misc. toiletry items and school supplies to Emily Whelan at Louisiana State University’s relief center.
The Salvation Army’s pick up department here in NYC informed me that they would pick up and sell items here in NYC and send a portion of the sales to the relief victims when they collected the money.
Understanding their position, Emily is on site and can distribute items immediately to needy people living in summer weather conditions now. So, if you look around your homes and see anything that you are not using, remember the pictures of the homes that are literally flattened, and think about how your items could be put to use immediately. This is not a replacement for cash, it is simply to get needed items into the hands of the people who need it most from the people that have it and use it the least.
For those of you who still want to send items, here is Emily’s contact information:

As a NYC’s destination specialist on the ground, it is a privilege to be able to work with specialists around the world. Our New Orleans’s specialist is Kevin Maloney with Royal Insider. As you can imagine, we have been quite concerned about how Kevin is fairing under these extremely trying circumstances both personally and from a business standpoint. Here is the latest update from Kevin so that you can personally help him immediately, so that he can continue to help you in the future. This newsletter now reaches 130,000 travel agents and meeting planners around the world. Imagine if each of you passed this to one more friend, how much we could all do to help each other now!
From Kevin Maloney:
“Please accept my heartfelt thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers you've shared with me since Hurricane Katrina struck. So many of you have expressed your concern and support, and it continues to mean a great deal to me. Quite a number of you have asked what you can do to help. Well, I've come up with a way...
We're publishing (under generator power and yes, from the French Quarter) a special Hurricane Katrina issue of the Royal Insider Web Magazine (www.royalinsider.com). The issue will grow in the weeks and months to come, with periodic eyewitness reports from in and around New Orleans, as well as installments in a series of stories based on my personal experiences throughout the disaster, entitled "Until we die." (I'm not sure if you are aware that I'm a published writer and produced playwright, but some of you may remember my series a few years ago, "Royal Insider Goes to Egypt.") The first reports, as well as the first story chapter, are already available on the site.
These reports and stories will continue to be available free of charge, but to help Royal Insider through this enormously challenging time, we're offering a voluntary web magazine subscription, and I hope many of you will sign up. For $25, you'll receive email notifications each time new content is added to the magazine, as well as a $50 credit that can be applied to any Royal Insider accommodations in the future. You can subscribe by credit card right from the site.
Also, I'm going to ask if you can take the time to please email your friends, clients, etc. to recommend and link them to the Royal Insider Web Magazine Hurricane Katrina edition. The more people who read the magazine, the more people who will subscribe. There's even a link on the site to make it easy to start an email to whatever lists you've got.
Thanks, yet again, for your kindness and support. I'm confident of a strong rebound of travel, here, but in the meantime I'm counting on web magazine subscriptions to see us through.
With my very best wishes always,
Kevin Molony
