Kitt's Footnotes

This is a fabulous time to experience NY and take advantage of the values. Discover New York has access to everything that will make the trip perfect and we’d love to hear from you.  Call us at 212-370-1319 or e-mail us at sales@dnykg.com and ask for one of our Destination Specialists to create the perfect trip or gift certificate for a corporate incentive, birthday, anniversary, wedding gift or family reunion.

Hotels open constantly in NYC and the latest information about the Pierre is that their re-opening is now scheduled for June 1st after a $100 million dollar renovation.  The property is a wonderful combination of old world elegant with a modern touch for a comfortable residential feel, as if you are in a real New York apartment without a kitchen. Two of the grand suites have terraces so they are perfect for a family that wants to sit and watch the sunset across Central Park and enjoy cocktails.  The Pierre will have a total of 189 rooms, including 140 rooms which include 15 twin bedded rooms and 49 Suites.  Please note that since many of the apartments are cooperatives, you are truly in a residential feel without the kitchen!

February’s visit to Loews’ Ventana Canyon in Tucson was great for the conference that I attended.  My only regret is that I did not allow time for golf on their fabulous course!

San Antonio is growing with a new airport addition and lots of activity.  Riverwalk continues to grow more beautiful with new plantings as the renovation continues adding another mile of landscaping.  Our conference is at the Westin and my comments will be in next month’s newsletter.

Remember June Ahren's Healing Heart installation after 9/11? Many of you created a heart to be included in the piece. June is having a one woman show in Boston. Here are the details: Trustman Gallery, Simmons College March 23-April 17th, 100 the Fenway, Boston, MA www.juneahrens.com.

Please allow our Destination Specialists to speak directly with your guests on a conference call.  This personal consultation will save time for you, allow your guests to hear a variety of options about fabulous things to do in NYC that meet their price point and objectives.  At the end of one phone call, they know where they will go, what time they will need to be there, what they will do when they arrive, including leisure time, as well as dress code so that they know what to pack before they arrive.  Instead of 14 e-mails, they receive seamless service from touch down to take off and the agent remains the agent of record for the life of the client relationship. You will have happier guests and make more money with less effort.

Upon arrival, each guest is reached with a personal telephone call by their Destination Specialist to welcome them to NY on your behalf.   Your Destination Specialist is available 24/7 to assist with additional services after their arrival so that you know that your guests in our personal hands and all additional services are credited back to you.

Think of Discover New York as your Specialist Desk in New York City providing current and accurate information to help each of your guests to maximize their visit to New York and take them beyond the New York that they already know!
