What themes can you offer for dinner cruises on a private yacht?
Although DNYKG can help you create a wonderful event anywhere in NYC, private yachts are always great fun because the backdrop of the skyline of New York City is magical.  DNYKG can transform even a simple yacht into a stunning venue by adding beautifully lit décor and florals, impersonators, fun props, the sparkle of a custom designed ice sculpture and delicious food.  Whether it is a casino night, Prohibition Gangsters from the Roaring 20’s, a fashion show, or a Rock N Roll band geared to the decades of your choice, DNYKG can help you create the perfect event.

Are you still accepting requests for last minute bookings for Spring Break for Most Colleges or High Schools – March 2007 or April 2007?
Although everyone appreciates plenty of lead time to create the experience that is personalized and fun, it’s our pleasure to accommodate requests for Spring Break.  Cheryl Smith can create a fabulous mother-daughter or father son weekend get-away with the best seats to the hottest sold out shows and still have you meet the cast members afterwards backstage!

Book a private tour of the Museum at FIT accompanied by our DNYKG Shopping/Fashion Expert.

She's Like a Rainbow, the third exhibition in the Fashion and Textile History Gallery, explores the history, symbolism, science and psychology of color in fashion. Why is red the color of passion and revolution? Why is blue such a popular color, whereas yellow has so many negative associations? Why is black today's most fashionable color?

She's Like a Rainbow covers 250 years of fashion history, and features more than 150 fashions, accessories, and textiles from the museum's permanent collection of 80,000 objects. Highlights include a genuine little red riding hood from the 18th century, an early pair of blue jeans, a newly fashionable yellow dress from 1750, a white summer dress from 1867 resembling one worn by the central figure in Claude Monet's Women in a Garden, a hot pink dress by Elsa Schiaparelli, and a sexy black cocktail dress by Thierry Mugler. "Color is one of the most fundamental components of fashion," says Steele, "yet it is often misunderstood. This is because color is not simply a natural phenomenon (the sky is blue, or at least it looks blue); it is also a complex cultural construct. Color has a history. Thus, color symbolism varies greatly across cultures, and changes over time."

This exhibition has been organized by Dr. Valerie Steele, museum director, together with Patricia Mears, research curator, Fred Dennis, associate curator of costume; Harumi Hotta, textile educational associate, and Clare Sauro, assistant curator of accessories. An earlier version of She's Like a Rainbow was presented at The Rodin Gallery in Seoul, Korea in 2005, in conjunction with the Samsung Art and Design Institute (SADI).

Following the FIT Tour, proceed to SoHo and Meatpacking District to shop the boutiques and meet with the buyers.

The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa was the location for the ADME conference this year.  Palm Springs is amazing. The mountains were so much taller than I ever imagined and the golf courses are everywhere.  Ask for a golf view room upstairs so that you don’t hear the pitter patter of feet if you are in a ground floor room.  There is no elevator and the steps to the second floor are steep, so ask your clients if they are fine walking up them.

Phoenix has grown so much since I was there before 2000.  The new construction is everywhere and the city seems to keep spreading out.  The Ritz Carlton, Bisto was perfect after a long day with great service.  The Fish Tacos were highly recommended by the concierge on the Club Floor.  When I arrived at the restaurant for dinner, the tacos were not on the dinner menu.  I explained to the waiter that the concierge had told me they were a must order and what could he do to accommodate the request?  “No problem” was the answer and now I understand why they are the top selling luncheon dish.

The Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe worked well for another conference that I attended.  It’s situated within walking distance from the town square with generous size rooms.  It’s a shame to think that hotels need to cut back on providing a USA Today and save a few cents!  Please don’t nickel nurse your guests, and add another $1.00.  Think about being gracious with your hospitality.
