"We help you turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!"

Thank you for all of your comments about the monthly newsletter. We are delighted that you are enjoying it. Please do visit our new website for program details with pricing. You will find the prices for transfers, tours, helicopter rides, all listed there.

Thank you to Wendy Perrin and Condé Nast Traveler for choosing us as their exclusive “Destination Specialist for New York City” for the second consecutive year!  We are thrilled to be included amongst the top travel specialists around the world.

I didn't know you did that!

What can you offer to help a small group of doctors have a meeting in NYC and allow their spouses to do something interesting over a weekend?
Depending upon their budget and the size of the group, there are a variety of locations that can work very well for the doctors to have their meetings in the morning and then meet the spouses for afternoon activities together.  AV needs are going to determine the room set up, so ask for all the details so that we can help you.

What can you offer to a group of young dance competitors that wish to spend several days in NYC before going to Hartford, CT to compete in a competition?
Depending upon the group’s budget, there are a variety of ways to combine sightseeing in NYC with behind the scenes private dance classes for these students.  Once we understand how many people are going to share a room, how many meals to include, how much free time versus structured time, we can create a wonderful itinerary for them to enjoy NYC.

By choosing all of the activities first, and respecting their final per person costs, we can choose a hotel that will fit within their budget.  Many times, the hotel selection is the first decision that a group leader will make. The entire rest of the program will then need to be fit into the balance of the budget.  By reversing the process, the attendees will be able to fit everything that is special into their program and find a hotel location within their budget that keeps all costs in place.  Before booking anything, please call us for some direction so that we can help you provide the best fit possible.

First, we would like to thank each of you for your support this past year.  We’ve been allowed to care for your best friends, clients, associates and your families.  Each one of them has experienced a very different New York City through the eyes of our experts in a variety of different languages.  It has been an honor and a joy for us to help you.

Wonderment and delight in seeing something in a new and different way happens to each of us at different times.  Growing up, all of the Italian Renaissance paintings that I saw showed cherubs, nymphs and biblical figures set among a backdrop of pink clouds.  Therefore, I had reached a conclusion as a child that I knew that I would be on my way to Heaven when I saw those pink clouds.  Funny how someone sees a picture of something and jumps to a conclusion, right or wrong; it makes sense to them at that moment because of their past experiences.

In early December, I spent three glorious days in Rome at the magnificent St. Regis Hotel.  My room was incredible hand painted headboard and wall depicting scenes of an time long ago.  This is a very special hotel in a lovely location with great bathrooms that have double sinks, a shower stall and bathrub!  After a quick nap I departed the hotel late afternoon to walk to the Villa Borghese for a 5:00 PM entrance time.  As stepped out the door of the hotel, I looked up and the entire sky will filled with fluffy clouds and every one of them was pink!  It was as if God had dipped his large paint brush into a pink wash and swished it across the sky.  It was truly magical.  The light bulb finally went on in my head realizing that Italian painters painted their sky pink because that is what they saw!

It’s similar to how we view New York. Through the eyes of a local expert, we can bring the myths into focus with true understanding and background so that our guests can enjoy and understand what they are looking at in context.

For those of you who have not had the chance to visit the Villa Borghese, two must see sculptures have left an imprint on my mind: Pauline Bonaparte by Antonio Canova, and Apollo and Daphane by Gian Lorenzo Bernini.  I simply adored both of them.  My next day was spent in the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s just soaking up the art.  Rome is truly a glorious city and it’s so much fun to take time and just enjoy it.  The public buses are a joy, clean and quiet and easy to find.

The ILTM Conference in Cannes was a great way to say hello to old friends and make new ones.  The world of travel continues to be an enriching stretch for every dimension.  We look forward to stretching your knowledge and imagination with your next visit to New York City during 2006!  Happy New Year.
