What can you do to help create small incentives that can produce big results? Our budget will not allow us to have a big sales incentive meeting this year and we want to reward our team that does a great job.

DNY has created incentives for two people at a time to come to NY and have a fabulous time based upon their own interests. Each program has a fixed incentive price per trip agreed to with the company.

The winner has a consultation with one of DNY's Destination Specialists to create a personalized program just for them!  This allows the company to create a short term sales goal, the winner has the trip of their dreams and it's fast and easy. Program basics include private airport transfers, hotel, and dinner reservations and gift cards to be used at that restaurant. Depending upon the interests of the winner, they can add theater tickets with backstage access, sporting events, dinner cruises, cooking classes, shopping programs, whatever would make their trip personal and exciting to meet their needs all within their budget. Each winner can add additional services and pay on their own if they wish.

This has been incredibly successful with companies located in the New York Tri-State region in addition to overseas guests!

Can you help our YPO Forum group that needs small meeting space and will bring spouses and want to have a seamless experience with everything taken care of for us?

Both domestic and international YPO, WPO and CEO Forums have worked with DNY for years to explore NY with private, behind the scene experiences with touch down to take off services. DNY knows the special attention that you require to make the meetings effective, fun and earn a rating of 10. Please call us to discuss your dates, the total number of people and your budget. DNY is happy to work with your own resources.

What kind of make-overs do you offer?

College graduates starting job interviews need to look their best, soccer moms that have decided to go back into the work force, girls or men that want a new look can spend time with one of our stylists to help them fine tune their look. Sweet 16's and Bachelorette parties love the opportunity to be together, look better and have fun.

Based upon your body shape, budget and career goals, creating a new and effective wardrobe is easy. Tie in a new look with hair and make-up/grooming tricks for men, and you'll feel better and more confident. Call us for a consultation that will match your needs and budget.

An insightful Carrie Bradshaw once said, “If you are single, there is always one thing you should take out with you on a Saturday night...your friends.”  Although Valentine’s Day is traditionally dedicated to coupling, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park invites ladies to honor the most important Valentines in life – her friends – with the Boyfriend Not Included Package. Ask us to tie in your make-over with a look you’ll love at the Ritz-Carlton with their exclusive Valentine’s Day package on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings in the month of February. The package includes the following:

  • Luxurious accommodations for four in a Parkview Suite with connecting City View Guestroom
      • Includes access for four to the exclusive Ritz-Carlton Club® Lounge, a “hotel within the hotel,” featuring complimentary food and beverage presentations throughout the day (cocktails, anyone?)
    • Four in-room manicures provided by La Prairie at The Ritz-Carlton Spa
    • Choice of evening activities:
      • A night “in” featuring your own selection of favorite movies, music and snacks served en-suite

    Kitt's Footnotes

The contact us page on our website is working again. If you need help, please call us at 212.370.1319 or email sales@dnykg.com. As the economic climate sorts itself out, please reach out to us to help you with specific requests. DNY's Destination Specialists work with you to create the perfect package at a price point that meets the needs of you and your clients and includes all the 24/7 assistance that DNY's clients have come to expect from the minute they arrive until the minute they depart. All bookings are handled exactly the same as shipboard bookings with the agent of record remaining in place for the life of the client relationship.

Best available tickets to a sold out show are going to run much more than best available to a show that has been running quite awhile.

Saving money for you and your clients is handled through personal consultations with your DNY Destination Specialist. They can obtain a variety of options for you for your trip. Please remember that all services that DNY packages include gratuities for everyone including the drivers and guides.  When looking at various proposals, compare price and value.  They can be very different.

This month has included a lot of travel. Hopefully, some of these tips will provide some helpful hints for you.

The Charleston Place Hotel is still a great venue for meetings. The top two floors are considered their Club level. It's the only Club level I've ever stayed at that keeps a tip jar on the bar. You are paying a significant amount for this extra amenity so be gracious. Either pay the bartender or don't charge extra but don't do both. It's the little extras that make the experience a pleasure not a challenge.

The Denver Ritz Carlton provided one of the best break outs for food and beverage that I have experienced anywhere. They took the theme of apples and showcased a variety of ways to display options including a wheel barrel full of apples, apple crisp, candied apples, apple turnovers, apple crumb tarts and apple cider all displayed magnificently!!!  It was a wonderful combination of textures, flavors and lighting!  The staff is great--highly recommend that you contact their team if you have a meeting in Denver.

The Ritz Carlton, Battery Park and the Biltmore in Phoenix also did a great job with meetings. Passed hors d’oeuvres were beautifully presented in small bite size portions.

Check carefully when booking rooms at the Biltmore. The grounds are gorgeous and it would be lovely to enjoy them from your room. My "upgraded" room on the ground floor had a small patio with a 7 foot hedge blocking any potential view. So, when booking the property, make sure that you have a room with a view and enjoy the scenery.

The staff at the Peninsula in Chicago did a wonderful job of hosting our meeting. The rooms are beautifully laid out, beds are fabulous, big windows with lovely views of the city, TV's in the bathroom to keep up with the news while getting dressed are a great touch. The team brought a coffee pot to my room so I could make tea in the evening and coffee in the morning.

I love Chicago. The architecture, cultural options and restaurants make it a great destination for people that love being in a city.

More travel notes will follow next month.
