What a month this has been for me with a wonderful trip to Montreal and Quebec, two beautiful cities.  I stayed at the Neligan in Old Montreal in a darling room.  Please note that this should be restricted to couples for a romantic get-a-way rather than a business traveler due to low lighting everywhere.  The Frontenac in Quebec exhibited old world charm to the meeting attendees that I joined for a conference.  Ask for rooms overlooking the river.

Then, in it was on to Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, my first visit to either city.  Yes, I did get to try Omaha steak in Omaha, which was delicious.

Next was Norfolk for my son, Brent’s wedding to Brooke Phillips.  We think that this is the first marriage between two ADME DMCP’s offspring so it is very exciting.  Both Anne Phillips, (Phillips Tours) and I hold the DMCP (Destination Management Certified Professional) designation through ADME (Association of Destination Management Executives), so we are delighted both personally and professionally to see this union.

For those of you who have watched Brent grow up over the years in many countries and receive the newsletter, the wedding photos will be up on line on August 11th.  Here is the link for my personal friends to view those:  Wedding photos: www.atlantisphoto.com, enter Garrett in the "Find Event" box. Veronica Dana Photography, (757) 464-6292. Photos@veronivadana.com.  For those of you whom I have not met, the bride and groom will be obvious.  My photos will be in my Charles Nolan designed little black dress with the blue ruffled “throw”.  Brent chose New York, New York for his dance with me as mother of the groom, which I thought was absolutely perfect!  It was an amazing four days of seeing old friends, meeting new ones and joining with a fabulous new family.  The bride and groom are off to South Africa for four days in Cape Town, four days on Safari and eight days in Mauritius.  Then, it’s back to work.  Thanks go to Leslie and Andre Botha at Trans Africa Safaris for creating this magical honeymoon for them.

It’s so nice to have so many personal contacts to help each other discover the best in each destination.  We are honored to have been selected by Wendy Perrin, Conde Nast Traveler for the third consecutive year as their exclusive choice for Top Destination Specialist for New York City and we look forward to taking each of you beyond the New York City that you already know!
