Eric holds a Master's Degree in Historic Preservation from the Columbia School of Architecture and is President of Eric Cohler Incorporated. Eric's work has been featured in the Kips Bay Show Houses in 1994, 1999, and 2001. Traditional Home Magazine bestowed is prestigious Designer of the Year award on Cohler in 1998, and the D&D building in New York recognized Cohler in November 2000 as one of the 26 leading designers in the United States. House Beautiful has described Eric Cohler as one of the 14 "best of the best" in the next wave of designers in America. He has been featured on the CBS Morning News, CBS Evening News and CNN Style with Elsa Klensch. Additionally he is a featured designer on the Home and Garden TV network and writes a syndicated column for several newspapers in upstate New York and Connecticut.
Jane Cowan
Associate Director of Children's Programs and History and Architecture
Jane holds a BA from Bryn Mawr College, where she majored in the Growth and Structure of Cities, with a concentration in architectural history, historic preservation, and teaching. Jane earned her MS from Columbia University in Historic Preservation. Between college and graduate school, she taught at an elementary school in Brooklyn. An educational consultant with the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts, the South Street Seaport Museum, Young Audiences NY; Lincoln Center Institute; the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation; and Friends of the High Line. Jane loves to expose New York’s youngest citizens and visitors to our great city, and it is her sincere hope that they will develop an appreciation, love for, and curiosity about New York .
Sara Garden Armstrong
Director of Fine Arts
Sara holds a Master's Degree in Fine Arts and a Master's Degree in Education. In 1982 she moved to NYC to pursue her career as an artist. Her works have been exhibited internationally since 1977. Sara's work is in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art and London's Victoria and Albert Museum, in addition to corporate collections of Prudential Corporation, Time-Warner, GE, IBM and the Gannett Company. Walking into an artist's studio and understanding what the artist is creating and why is what makes Sara's programs so special. She facilitates the interaction between the artist and viewer broadening the experience for both, whether it is watching glass being blown, paint being put on canvas, or sculpture being transformed from a model to outdoor art.
Kitt Garrett, DMCP

Kitt is a native New Yorker with over 40 years experience working for and with top corporate executives in the US and abroad. Recently distinguished as the exclusive 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Top Travel Specialist for New York City by Conde' Nast Traveler magazine, she has also been featured on the Travel Channel, Delta Shuttle Magazine, Town and Country Travel and Elite Magazine. She has taught cooking and designed food products for Fortune 500 companies in the US, Australia, Hong Kong and Mexico. Kitt holds Advanced Certificates from the Culinary Institute of America, The Higher Certificate from the London Wine and Spirit Trust, and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Tourism Management, New York University, graduating summa cum laude, Eta Sigma Delta. She is a member of Hospitality Sales and Marketing International, Meeting Professionals International, MAPTA, The National Speakers Association, the Greenwich Village Society of Historic Preservation, Chaine Des Rotisseurs, The Historic District Council, The Beaux Arts Alliance and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
John Kriskiewicz
Director of History and Architecture
A native New Yorker, he holds a professional degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute. John teaches at Parsons School of Design, and Manhattan College. He lectures about architecture and the development of NYC for: The Municipal Art Society, The Whitney Museum, The Cooper Union, Brooklyn Historical Society, the NYC Transit Museum, Newsday, and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum of Design. He contributed the introduction to Manhattan Skyscrapers, Princeton Architectural Press. John is also curator of a number of New York shows about history and architecture. John's Vintage Views Programs add historical insights and perspectives about the city and its people. John's ability to look at the buildings of New York and make them come alive, create a sense of "place" for locals and visitors alike.
Patricia Olmstead
Director of Horticulture and Urban History
Holds a B.S. Degree in Biology from the University of Akron. Pat received her certification in Landscape Design from the New York Botanical Garden and teaches at the New School for Social Research here in New York. For over fifteen years, she has been creating and maintaining gardens in and around New York. Pat helps visitors understand the importance of New York's parks and gardens and learn what makes one park work and another not!

Prices are clearly listed wherever possible to help you understand the costs associated with private experiences versus paying for a tour by a local company that has the ability to join passengers together.
